31 www.ceotodaymagazine.com CEO Today Europe Awards 2018 france NICOLE ISEPPI Associate Director of ENGIE ABOUT NICOLE ISEPPI It is not often the asset management and infrastructure industry come across a professional who in their career to date has had such a depth of unique, high calibre and leading international experience as Nicole and she says she “still has a lot more she would like to be part of, contribute too and achieve within the sector.” Nicole is the only professional in the international energy infrastructure industry to date, who has worked directly in-house as a senior strategic and legal adviser in both (i) the world’s largest IPP global energy company - ENGIE and (ii) one of the world’s largest project finance lenders - Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). She assists and advises such leading international companies in the successful delivery of their respective infrastructure and asset related interests, strategies and investments. Prior to joining ENGIE, Nicole was also mandated to act as the adviser for establishing and implementing, on behalf of the Japanese Ministry of Finance and JBIC - Japan Carbon Finance, Ltd (a new financial institution created to support low Co2 infrastructure projects). Nicole’s career to date specialises in providing a complete advisory & project management form of service, in relation to global infrastructure projects and assets. She has had substantial experience in the strategic formulation, developmental, project financing, execution and operational phases of infrastructure projects (in particular, within the IPP, IWPP, Renewable Energy and LNG sectors) of Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and European regions for the past 18+ years and has been with ENGIE since the beginning of 2010. When Nicole first joined ENGIE in 2010 she acted as Head of Finance Legal and Deputy General Counsel for ENGIE’s South Asia, Middle East and Africa regions and shortly thereafter was also appointed to act as the Global Team Leader for ENGIE’s Network for their international energy Financing Agreements (covering the United Kingdom, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and Latin America regions). Since the beginning of 2016, Nicole has now been acting as the Associate Director of Strategy for Global Generation at ENGIE. Where she applies her core infrastructure, asset management, legal and finance industry skills & knowledge in a broader business, strategic and commercial sphere with respect to risk management of global power generation – an essential part of both ENGIE’s portfolio of assets and the global energy sector. As a result of Nicole’s international experience, she was also appointed in the beginning of 2016 to the management committee and as a Project & Legal Director for the global solar Terrawatt Initiative (TWI). TWI is a global independent non-profit foundation created out of COP21 Paris Agreement, which promotes global solar development and aims to animate a high level of public & private dialogue between core stakeholders in an open, innovative and collaborative environment. Nicole has had the privilege and rare opportunity to have advised, negotiated and managed during her career to date, the successful execution and delivery of many energy and financing global ‘Deals of the Year’. Her experience, knowledge and lessons learnt, are highly respected and recognised in the industry by both her professional peers and clients.
