35 www.ceotodaymagazine.com CEO Today Europe Awards 2018 germany BERND SCHRÖDER Managing Director of Broetje-Automation GmbH ABOUT BERND SCHRÖDER Professional Background Born in 1960, Bernd Schröder became Managing Director of Broetje- Automation GmbH on 01. January 2007. Mr. Schröder acquired a degree in “Technical Business Administration” and the academic title of “European Engineer” on completion of his studies in the field of Electrical Engineering. During his twelve years of service as an army officer in the German Air Force he held various techno-managerial positions, including his last position as the Quality Control Officer of an Air Force Maintenance Facility. In 1990, Mr. Schröder took on managerial responsibilities with HENNINGES GmbH & Co., a manufacturer of technical rubber goods, his final position in the company being Vice President Production Manager. Mr. Schröder was employed by DÜRR AG from 1997 until his change to Broetje-Automation GmbH. He began his duties as a member of the board of management for DÜRR-Automation GmbH and was responsible for logistics, assembly, start-up, and later for International Sales in this Business Unit. Mr. Schröder left DÜRR upon completion of five years as sole Managing Director (CEO) of “Aircraft Assembly Systems”. Among his duties for Broetje-Automation, Mr. Schröder was assigned to the Advisory Board of the initiative “Aviation Niedersachsen”, established by the state government of Lower Saxony in 2009 and also for the Advisory Board of Staufen AG; Aerospace Division in 2011.
