ANDY BROWN Dr Andy Brown is co-founder and CEO of ENGAGE, a consultancy specialising in employee engagement, leadership effectiveness and internal communication. In addition to his strategic role running ENGAGE, Andy remains fully hands- on and works closely with the team of engagement experts at ENGAGE, and with carefully selected HR, coaching and technology partners, to deliver a wide range of engagement, leadership and communications programmes. In particular, Andy helps clients to understand the organisational challenges they face in engaging employees at all levels, and then works with individual leaders and leadership teams to improve their effectiveness in order to address these challenges directly. Andy has worked in leadership research, coaching and consulting for almost 25 years. In 2013, he led a Management Buy-Out together with Sarah Jordan, ENGAGE’s Managing Director, to create the company that ENGAGE is today. This was a completely self-financed, zero-debt transaction which has resulted in excellent year-on-year growth rates since. Prior to his role at ENGAGE, Andy held a number of senior consulting positions, including Partner at Mercer Consulting, Global Practice Leader at Manpower’s strategic consulting division and Managing Director of YouGov Consulting. He has also held the position of Head of Research at The Gallup Organization, where he became the youngest ever Board Director. Andy lives in Blackheath, London with his wife, two increasingly teenage children and a permanently sleeping cat. He is a life-long Sunderland fan (through birth, not choice) and is still learning to play the drums. Andy’s is passionate about rowing, having been the stroke in crews at Durham, Oxford and Harvard. Andy holds a Doctorate in Survey Analytics from Oxford, and has been a Visiting Fellow at Harvard and a Visiting Lecturer at London Business School. He is a founder member of the Guru Group at the “Engage For Success” movement. His academic record has enabled him to develop a rare skill among CEOs, which is to bring together academic rigour with commercial pragmatism to deliver measurable individual and business success. Andy has lived andworked in both the US and Europe and his client engagements have spanned all types of organisation from FTSE 100 / Fortune 500 global businesses to small, fast growth start-up firms. Just some of the many clients Andy has helped include Aviva, Barclays, BBC, British Gas, BT Group, Diageo, HBO Europe, HSBC, Innocent, Microsoft, Moss Bros., O2/Telefonica, Sainsbury’s, Transport for London (TfL), Vodafone and Zurich.
