CEO Today Europe Awards
Our core focus is to provide decentralised, green, and interconnected solutions that address the needs of our customers and those of the environment. We aim to lead the global shift towards new technology by working with customers, companies and across communities to make energy simpler, smarter and more sustainable. Our business mirrors the major changes that are happening in energy today. These are the increasing demand for innovative solutions, global growth of renewables to tackle climate change and transformation to a smarter energy system. Offshore wind farms We own and operate the UK’s first offshore wind farm near Blyth, as well as three others in UK waters: Scroby Sands, Robin Rigg, and Humber Gateway. Onshore wind farms Onshore wind energy is a relatively mature renewable energy industry and is long-established as a viable option for UK power generation. Climate and renewables E.ON climate and renewables (EC&R) brings together all activities relating to the development and operation of renewable energy within the E.ON Group. Biomass Biomass is the second largest source of renewable energy in the world. The combustion of organic material has a rich value that can be used to harness heat or electricity. Combined heat and power We have industrial combined heat and power (CHP) sites across the UK. As well as being asset owners, we work in partnership with major organisations to operate and optimise on-site energy generation. Getting it right for you Our ambition is to offer sustainable energy solutions that are just right for you. Being a trusted energy partner is key in our commitment to treating our customers fairly. Our customer commitment There are certain standards of service you can expect when it comes to your energy supply. We offer a range of information to show our responsibility to our customers and how we treat our customers fairly. Our aim is to give you simpler products, at fair prices with a responsive, friendly and helpful service. Guaranteed Standards of Service from us Standards are important to us. Whether set by us or by Ofgem, the energy industry regulator, we work hard to meet them. If we don’t meet standards, to say sorry we – or your electricity distributor or gas transporter – will pay you subject to certain exemptions. Our Standards of Conduct We’ll continue to be fair, honest, transparent, appropriate and professional with you. Any information we give you when we write or speak to you, will be: Easy to understand Our language is clear with the most important information highlighted for you. Accurate and truthful We’ll be open and transparent by regularly reviewing and acting on your feedback. Easy to deal with We’re easy to contact and if something goes wrong, we’ll fix it promptly, with no excuses. Right for you We’ll share products and services which are appropriate to you and your lifestyle. E.ON in the community We’re committed to investing in the communities in which we live and work. We have a dedicated Community Relations team who work with charity partners to help those who need it most. Our charity partner We partner with charities to provide support and raise money for the work they do. We’ve been proud to partner with the Alzheimer’s Society since 2016, providing support and raising money for the incredible work carried out by the charity. Whether it’s dressing up, climbing mountains, baking goodies or bungee jumping, our colleagues have been doing their bit to help raise funds to pay for Dementia Support Workers. Over 5,000 of our people at E.ON have already become Dementia Friends. We aim to offer all colleagues a chance to participate as part of our Alzheimer’s Society partnership.
